I spent close to $500 to bring my wife and two young daughters to the Hawks / Cavaliers game on Tuesday Feb 15, 2022 in ATL. While the team, venue, food, security and staff experience at the arena were great - the fans around us were not - and ruined the night. We had to leave in the 3rd period.
We had an unruly group behind us who refused to stop banging noise makers in my wife and children's ears - despite repeated requests not to do so. And then as the 2nd half commenced - streams of new people came into the arena I assume via some last minute ticket deals - including some who sat right in front of us who were inebriated, enormous, and proceeded to spill their food and drinks everywhere.
We could have lived with the group in front of us - but the group behind us with the noise makers was just too much. So we left - and while I may return for a game, my family will not. My firm does also have box seats at the arena - which we will use when available, but we won't be sitting down close to the court anymore based on this experience. I wish I had a better story to tell because I think the ownership is doing so many things very well.
